FAQs

Q. Why use Plasloc over traditional plywood hoardings?

Plywood and panel hoardings are predominately imported. They take longer to construct as they have to be cut and nailed together frequently resulting in them looking untidy and, unless painted, can make an area appear dark. Plywood cannot be kept clean and is sent to landfill, even after only one use.

Plasloc uses closed loop recycling meaning the Plasloc system will be recycled back into hoarding, making it a much more sustainable product.

It is also more attractive, and can be easily kept clean.  Its unique interlocking system means it can be assembled quickly and efficiently.

Q. Is Plasloc environmentally friendly?

Our systems are made from recycled PVC-U plastic which is returned for closed loop recycling. We can also re-use Plasloc a number of times, before they are sent to recycling. As plasloc is made from pvcu it is also lighter, compared with traditional plywood hoardings, thus making it easer to transport.

‘Using 100% recycled chiped PVC-U cuts C02 emissions by 94% compared to using Virgin PVC polymers' (Axion Consulting project news 4/6/2008).

Q. How durable is Plasloc?

Plasloc is highly durable and stable due to it being made from plastic which does not shatter or splinter and the interlocking system makes it strong. For outdoor use additional support is added to ensure the systems can withstand extremes in weather and the environment.

Q. Can we brand plasloc with our corporate colours and advertising?

Yes. We can match your corporate pantone colour. Please contact us for further details. You can also add clip in poster advertising for a relatively inexpensive, but attractive way of advertising your products or services, or you can add multi media advertising. For further details on advertising please contact Plasloc Head Office or your dedicated account Manager.

Q. Why is Plasloc good for food retail environments?

Plasloc is made from smooth plastic which can easily be kept hygienic and clean. The interlocking system means installation of Plasloc creates no fumes from paint or mess associated with traditional hoarding making it ideal for food retail environments.

Q. What limits are there on the size and shape of Plasloc?

There are no limits as all Plasloc systems can be fitted to any height and length and we also have radial units for recesses and corner requirements. If you have a particularly tricky project please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Q. Does Plasloc install the systems and how long does it take?

Yes. Plasloc has its own dedicated team of installers who are all fully trained to fit and deconstruct Plasloc on site. As the systems are modular, the construction takes considerably less time than traditionally associated with plywood hoarding. The length of time will depend upon the scale of the project. Please contact us for further details.
